stand looks great. my tank came with a stand<smirk>

anyway, I have been contemplating cutting back on the green board just to lower the work load. I will try to find some sort of spray in foam insulation, if there is such a thing.

BTW, screw the kids...college is over-rated IMO. Just a way to become a higher level worker bee. Better education: Turn a great hobby into an aquaculture farm and the kids can start earning their own money.

I got my son started with a worm farm about 3 years ago. We were having trouble sourcing them for our store. He's only 8 now and goes through periods of total laziness, but the lesson is still good I think. He can earn $10 - $20 per week, which is not bad really.

Any idea if your corners will work with the tank's overflow boxes/bulkhead drains?
Yeah, with the external overflow, it's a strait shot down and into the crawl space. Then a mere 21' to the wetroom:rolleyes: Then the closed loop is also right in the same area. As the next few days progress(if I can afford enough beer for the large muscle wielding friends) I think the way everything is laid out will come to light and make sense:D I hope:sad2:

jnarowe; Thanks again... Sometimes i wish mine came with the stand, the planning of the stand/cabinetry is more exhausting than the plumbing:) And I keep telling my son to think "GI BILL" for college. Now my daughter I think will be the marry the doctor kind of woman. LOL, it's funny, i was a high school drop out that spent quite a few years going to the school of hard knox, then went back and got my GED and then went to college a little later in life. Now I love what I do, never really have a bad day at work... See bad things, but still love the job. been doing it eleven years and still get excited about going to work... Maybe I need theropy?

melev: Thanks again for looking out for a fellow reefer:thumbsup:

NexDog: Thanks and hopefully there will be some pics with just that tomorrow. That is if the boys' wife's will let them come to Hop's house for a little lifting and lifting!

The installation or lifting of the tank went great other than I messed up my DSL line. So unfortunately I'm back to dialup, so the pictures will be a lot less frequent until that gets back up:mad: I have no idea what's wrong with the cat cable, but I had to move the computer out of the room and now, no matter what, it will not regognize the network cable.

At anyrate here is the tank on the stand:

And here is one of the glorious kids in suspended animation pics:eek:

Sorry, no pics of the installation, I was busy poping a &%$ getting the tank in. I'll also try to get some detailed pics up later, but first I have to try to fix my DSL with a hammer:hammer:

P.S. for those of you about to have tanks moved into your house by utilizing large friends... DON'T GIVE THEM BEER UNTIL THE TANK IS IN. Maybe I should have held off on the adult beverages my self. There was no hall too narrow or tank too wide after a few Heinies!

Thanks Melev. I wish I could get a better pic, but the room is only 12'X12' and standing as far back as I can, it just isn't enough to squeeze the entire tank in. I guess when I wanted a tank room, thats what I got:D

Here are a couple more perspective pics with the family and a little something I snagged a few years back:rolleyes:

ROFL. Needless to say... The wife was not happy after working a 14 hour day, getting home and having me tell her to climb the ladder, get in the tank and have her picture taken... but then again, I doubt I could get her in there with some daisy dukes and boots:(

So have you guys broken the tank in.....if you know what I mean????
LOL that is too funny. i don't need an answer to that question

dang nice tank...it's a big'en!!! hope to see more pics

nice looking family. your daughter is adorible. i take it she didn't get the dark hair and olive skin from your wife.

hope yoru GI bill and marrying a Dr. works out for you. until then have fun dumping money into the little money pits. hope i get 2 of my own someday.

what you do for work? i too love my job and everday of it. never hate going to work but hell i knew what i wanted to do when i was a fresh or so in High school. then spent 7yrs in college and WAY WAY too much in student loans to work for WAY less money than i want/need

ROFL...Maybe

Lunchbucket: Thanks for the comment on the tank. And thanks for the comments on the family. Yeah it's true, the daughter took after me... about 80% Cherokee, a touch of German and a little Irish seasoning.

Also then, you know the meaning of if you love what you do, you never really work a day in your life:D

My wife won't get in my tank. In fact, a week ago she came out on the deck while I was in the yard, and said, "What is that?" while pointing at the tank. I was confused by that since she did an overnight trip with me to view it, and I responded, "that's the tank." She replied, "oh, it didn't look that big before!"...

Controversy brings us closer, right???--J

ROFL.... You know my wife is as into the tank as I am, but not into the construction. Today I'm planning, while she's out horseback riding...In the rain no less. You know she could be here building the lightrack or running the 4-way...BUT NO..............

On a side note it's kind of funny looking at these pictures. The light is just right that you can see the water marks on the wall from my wifes fish that were in the 110 here. She had 5 tin foil barbs that were a tad over 1' and everytime you went to feed them, you would get a bath. They splashed water about 6' from the tank on the wall. I guess my wife is going to have to fix that:D

ahh not i see why she is a brown eyed cutie :D good thing she has some german...the only way to be (german :D )

Hop - my wife has really taken a liking to my tank (58gal) and really wants me to set up another one...BIGGER on so she can have some tangs and some full sized angels. while i love this it sucks as we live in an apt (for the next 2yrs or more) and we don't have the funds to be setting up a big enough tank for those fish. a good...yet bad problem to have. but i'm sure you love the support just as i do

later buddy

I hear ya, we were in town home for a few years dreaming about a house and tank bigger than 55 gallons... Then came the house and a few more years dreaming about the tank....

Didn't get much done today. Worked on the planning and design of the lightrack as well as just a few plumbing concerns. Then I tried to set an itinerary with projects to get the tank up and running. I'm trying to decide if I should get the tank running and work around it -OR- try to get everything done before filling the beast... Any suggestions

Plus my ISP is a joke, I don't think that the moving of the computer was the issue, I think that it was just a coincidence, so i spent a few hours on the phone with tech support, then cancelled the service. I have a new complany coming in on wednesday for $20 cheaper a month, with good tech support. And free webspace so I can host my pictures for free and maybe have enough room for some video...Hmmmmm
