Just slowly adding it to the sump and letting it work it's way through the system.

saurus: Checked it this morning and it was sitting at 1.020. Added a little more and will recheck tonight. Should be close!

Reef Addict II: Thanks I just hope hope all the planning works:) Nothing worse than governmental improper preparedness!

I had to make a few mods this morning before work. I was having a substantial micro-bubble issue. Oddly it was not from the skimmer though. I think it was from the 20+ feet of drain and the intake for the return pump was cavitating, causing a small tornado in the water and sucking in air. I replaced the intake screen with a T right now and will be adding a filter sock or something on the drain when I get home tonight. We'll let it run a few days after that and see if it solves the problems!

Looks like your rock is from reefer rocks :)

Capt. Jer layed mine out just like that on his deck to snap some pix. Very happy with the rock and after 5 months in the tank it has full growth.

Good luck with the addiction...it wins every time

I wouldn't be surprised if you have bubble issues till all that piping is "cured" with a slime coat. Almost like breaking in a new sjimmer

Kevin McG: Yup, I tried another brand but was very dissatisfied. Went with Capt. Jer and could not be happier!

kentrob11: Thanks

DerekW: I'm with you. After the few mods though, I can live with it until then. It was kind of like looking into a 340 gallon skimmer this morning:)

Not much to look at, but here it is will all systems functioning, sg to 1.023, Ph 8.3. I added a few scoops of sand from the 125 into the fuge and am just letting it run for a few days:D

nbd13: The flow seems pretty good. I've had to keep the nozzles pointed higher than I would like to avoid the sandstorm right now, but as things settle down and stabalize, I'm sure I'll be able to move them to where they need to be...

Looks great Hop, I like it a lot.

This has to be a real gratifying moment to get things fired up and running.:bounce1: :bounce2: :bounce3:

rjwilson37: Oh man it's really hard to be patient right now. But I know that as I get things transfered this week and start buttoning things up, it will really start to take shape.

nbd13: A few, but I changed out the intake on the return pump and fixed the cavitation problem and added a filter sock. Now things are quite managable and after a few weeks, I'm sure the last bit will take care of itself:)

How often do you think you will need to change the filter sock? i may get one of those to try to take care of some of my microbubble issues.

Nick

nbd13: I'm thinking that I will have to rinse the sock out every couple of days. Should be pretty painless. As DerekW mentioned odds are with nearly 29' of drain and another 30+' of return, the bubbles will most likley be around for a while until the pipes get a little use and a slime coat. I'm hoping that after that the problem will subside and I won't need the sock any more:)

Also the cavitaion was from the pump/sump causing a little tornado, sucking air into the return and blowing mass amount of air into the lines. I just T's the tintake and that remedied the situation.

melev: Thanks, Hopefully someday I'm posting breathtaking pics like yourself and actually have more to show than rock and water.LOL
