Adding a 2nd false percula

Now that we have a 56 gallon (from our nano set up) we can add a few more fish.

Are there issues with adding another false percula now that we have one already? He is very docile, but I know they are very territorial. (No anemones in this tank.)

Could I (should I) add a different type of clown instead?

definitely dont get a different species. it is safer to try to get juvenile clown of the same species. get one from a place that has multiple clowns in the same tank, and dont get the largest

if you get 2 females they will fight to the death. since yours is the only one in the tank, you can probably bet it is female.

they will probably still fight, just keep a close eye

We've had him (?) 9 months and he is about 1.5 to 2 inches long.

at that point, it is almost definitely female. be really careful
