Adding another clown

I had a pair of ocellaris clowns in quarantine together. When i added them to my DT the little male went down the overflow and died. He was about .75" and the female is 1". Can i add another of about the same size as her or a little bigger so the new one wont go down the overflow as it will be bigger?

Anything smaller than her will go down the overflow but from what I have read the new one needs to be smaller than her.

That small they could have both still been male, so you might get away w/ either smaller, bigger, or what I would probably do is shoot for same size.
To be safe intro in a specimen container.
Knitting places or fabric stores have black mesh that is great for overflows, very small screen, plastic, flexible.

Thanks for the advice. Was just worried that the larger one had become female and would not change back to male in the presence of a larger female. I will try to find one about the same size and introduce them

I have 2 Ocellaris Clowns in my tank. 1 is about 20 years old, and about 3 years ago the second one died. So I bought one on the smaller side. They get along great, was wondering if I could 2 or 4 more, and what size.

Yours is a different situation, obviously larger was female so you had to go w/ a new small male, and you should keep to one pair, they pretty much always fight when they mature if there is more than one pair unless a group from same clutch or extremely large tank.

Get one of same species smaller than your other clown. Never good idea to have multiple clowns in same tank.
