Adding another False Perc?

I have currently been raising my false perc clown for approx. 6 months or so now. It hasnt gotten very big yet and my pink tip condy nem decided to host it. It is only about 1.5-2" long but has an attitude of a ferocious pitbull. I am curious if there is a way I can add another one to try and pair them, and also how to sex my current one to know if perhaps I can add a male/female to get them to mate. What would your advice be? How the hell do you sex a fish? Why is it such a territorial *** lol?

Your clown is most Definately a female, if it has been by itself for six months. If you want to add another clown make sure it is a juvenile. Juveniles will be in a tank with multiple other small clowns. When you go to pair them up, make sure you first keep them seperated, but allow them to see each other. I used a clear acrylic container that clips onto the side of the tank. Leave them separated until your female clown calms down, then release the male/juvenile and watch them closely. If the female appears to be harming the juvenile, be prepared to separate them.

Why is your clown so aggressive? That's just a clowns behavior, they will protect there host and vice versa!

Why do you say she's territorial? If she's biting you, start hand feeding her. She should calm down. I started hand feeding my clowns years ago, and I can't remember the last time I got a territorial bite.

I am very surprised that your clown bonded to that anenome, I've had many of them and never had a clown host those, only bubbles.

Why do you suspect it is a female? I was also surprised it was hosting the clown as well, because at first "she" had black spots showing up on her skin where the condy was stinging her and then eventually it just stopped and now she barely ever leaves the thing. How do I go about picking a male juvenile? What is distinctive behavior of each sex? Body shape/ and or size, I am unsure but I would like to see a happy pair of clowns in my tank :D
