i have a 240G and have had two healthy ritteri/magnifica anemones for the past 6+ years. both are about 8-20" depending on their mood. I have been thinking of getting another one or a carpet anermone. do u think this is possible or should i not take the risk. i have heard that adding something new might cause the deaths of my existing ones.

You already know I would not risk 1 healthy magnifica with anything, much less your two healthy specimens :>)

Hope all has been well :)

Thanks for the response Scott. I knew the answer but was hoping to find someone that had a success with this. I'm not planning to risk my anemones but wanted to see if there were people out there that were successful.

So are you back in the hobby raising clowns and anemones? All is well here. Tank is not doing well as I would like it too but those two anemones are still happy and thriving.

Glad to hear you are doing well.

There are folks out there that have had "success/survival" in mixing anemones, but I am not aware of enough examples to claim it works.

In fact, I was able to tell over time, my mixing attempts really introduced some level of competition or differing in preferred environments. Part of the reason I reduced my stock so much, just too much trouble maintaining dozens of separate systems.

At this stage, I have 3prs breeding and a couple of anemone species....actually looking to downsize a bit more but cant seem to part with any of my long term friends. If I get my act together, I may come begging for one of your Magnificas this fall for a project :>)

Cheers.
