Adding pellets to an established BP reactor

I've had my BP reactor running for almost a year now. I've had to refill my reactor recently but haven't noticed much of a drop in nitrates. How long should It generally take before noticing a drop after adding/refilling pellets?

TTT with an update. Tested for nitrate again and it seems to be going up? I added a about a half cup more of pellets. There's maybe a total of 2 cups or a bit over that I'm running. I haven't changed anything In my setup so this is really confusing and driving me crazy. Help please!

Yes I have it pointing directly to the skimmer input

I have not. I've had the biopellet reactor set and running for about a year now and everything was working great until recently. Do you think it'll be beneficial for me to add something like mb7?
