Adee's new build

Wow, lucky reefer!!

I'm struggling with Acropora growth at the moment, and learning from tanks like yours will definitely help newbies like myself. Thanks for detailing your setup.

I maintain the same alk, cal and mg params, and I'm certain that my filtration is nowhere as efficient or stable, need to work on that! Hopefully, someday.......

Truly one of my favourites!!!

My ATS - starting to reap what it sows

So going back to where I began....nothing but a clean sheet of glass, running water and sunlight.

Two month later, I had done a week before (on left) it's first cleaning...plan to clean a strip every 2-3 weeks. You can see on the left, the grow back after just one week.

Cleaned the far right side.

i love it. i am going to do something similar with my setup. did you consider using a screen of some sort? it looks like you get good adhesion of the algae without a screen. it would be much easier to clean than a screen.

I did run a sheet of shade cloth...too much effort to clean and put back. I simply stop the pump, scrape into a fishnet...turn the pump back on. I run a 200 micron filter sock on the outflow of this tank for 24hrs, to catch any stuff i missed.

took me all day but finally got through this, this is an awesome tank and awesome build....it shows great craftsmanship and it is especially nice because everything is customly put together by the owner and the use of sunlight is awesome

Thank you for the kind comments, the more effort one puts into it, the more the reward.

Amazing, have so much to learn. Plus, what does a setup like this cost?

Thank you, I'm still learning as I go along myself. I stopped counting costs a long time ago. I just love this hobby so much, can't dwell on the costs forever. But plan wisely as this is one hobby that you will pay dearly for through ones wallet if you don't plan properly.

Pics of my angels

Pics of my angels

After about 4 months of acclimatisation, I finally moved the 3 angels from the nursery tank across to the main display tank. I first had to catch the powder blue...easy with the fish trap that I made...PB now swimming in the other tank along with the convicts.

There was some sizing up from the other tangs, all in all the angels seem at peace in the new environment.

So took some random pics...tank is looking nice and clean for a change. Pics taken as the sun was setting in the late afternoon, used the flash...something I hardly ever do. Happy with the result of the pics....shows actual colors.

Adee,

Setup looks brilliant, I love the way you adapted the system as you went along(learning from the experience).

Cheers mate.

It's the best sunlit tank beside the actual reef.
Your sps is on steroid ...

Thanks mate. I give them lots of TLC. And try and keep things simple.

Thanks bud. Yeah, and there is still lots to learn and evolve along the way.

Adee. Thank you for this wonderful build thread.
You have a beautiful and well-matured tank.

Please keep us updated.

Sire, thank you for the kind words. I can only dream of a tank worthy of standing in the shadow of your very own wonderful art work.

Incredible growth Adee. Are you still using the 1 HP chiller? How is the calcium reacter working for you?
Heya, yes I still have the chiller. Try and minimize its use by keeping the doors and windows open. The CARX is really not coping, still daily 4 tablespoons of kalkslurry manually to keep up with demands. Need a bigger one or two.

While the sun was out...took some pics.
