Thanks. Funny after the spawning event I did a carbon change, last time I did that was 3 months before. Tank is much clearer now.

Scrubber cleaning - the mother load!
Scrubber cleaning - the mother load!
So, (on purpose) I let my scrubber get self consumed with algae to a point that I noticed that it became very "soft" to the touch and easily disintergrated in certain areas. Note, the "stuff" is growing on a plain, smooth, sheet of glass. Another indicator that the scrubber had reached tipping point, was the slight yellowing of the water, as well as the skimmer performing more than usual. The 2/3rd's of "harvest", was around a 4 week period worth of growth.
Some areas had a thick matt of the good stuff
So after 3 days outside and in the sun, the nasty smelling bit that was semi dried out, weighed in at 846 grams. There is a way of calculating the amount of N + P that would make up this collection, so as to determine the quanitity of nutrients actually exported from my system...will get round to that after some more research.

Thanks, ordinarily I just give it away.
Both are undectable at 0.00ppm. I use a Hanna Checker for testing phosphates.

:eek2: Thats some harvest! Were you ever able to figure out the N + P that should have made up all that? And if you dont mind me asking, how come you didn't go to your LFS with that all that cheato for some extra spending $$$ for some new goodies?

And your tank is absolutely amazing, even if it's just pictures of wiping mass amounts of algae and de-cubing your cube of chaeto, i'm always looking for your thread when i get my weekly sub updates. Keep up the awesome work and keep the pictures comin!

I found some articles, alas....I don't have a Ph.D to interpret the lingo, in order to give accurate data. Will keep looking, maybe someone has written something in easy language I can understand.

The day I stop doing that...will be the beginning of the 1st day, that I start resigning from this hobby. Pushing the envelope is all part of this wonderfull hobby.
