Very cool pair. Where did you get them?

I got a pistol shrimp hoping it would pair with my YW Goby but no such luck. Seeing those two makes me want to catch them and get a pair like yours.

I special ordered them from Sean at Emerald Bay. Got a good deal too. Lower than online prices. They were paired when they came in, and stayed that way when I put them in the tank. they are great. Still a little skittish, though. But they are coming around.

Michael, I've heard that having the shrimp first, or simultaneously will encourage them to pair up, but that adding the shrimp after the fact often won't create the bond. That was why I got my shrimp first. Next time, I'll definitely due the pair together.

I am not totally sure how it works. Just make sure you get the candystripe(randall's) pistol, as Yashas and the banded high fin, pair with them exclusively in the wild, so your odds of pairing increase greatly.

On another note, regarding 5.5 gal tanks and AC70's, definitely get the 150 gph impeller for it, as the 300 is way too much if you have a sandbed. I switched and no more sand storm.

Thanks! Don't be too jealous. I lost the goby. The shrimp is still hanging around, but it doesn't come out on account of its lack of a bodyguard.

Gotcha, man. I decided to try some XP-G cool whites mixed in with my XR-E royal blues.

I was thinking about those too, but they don't have all the optics sizes yet.

I was able to get some 70 degree optics for them. I'm going to get some 60s for the XR-Es.
