i'm here in new york city...

the other day i went to new world aquarium. they had jellyfish that i've never seen for sale before, a $600 duncan colony, algae covered rocks for $20 each, and lots of cool fish and corals.....

yesterday we went to the met and saw, among other things, damien hirst's 'the physical impossibility of death in the mind of someone living.' pretty impressive.

it's about 4000 gallons. also, not my photo, you're not supposed to take pics of it..


on our way home i hope to stop by greenwich aquaria http://www.greenwichaquaria.com/default.html which looks to be the coolest fish store ever, and possibly at abc reefs also, since i've never been.

they were selling jelly fish?? common jellyfish? Man that is a dream tank Ive had for a long time. 7 or 8 foot tall cylinder tank with one or two common jellys.

i think he said they were called 'upside down jellyfish'.. they were like 2-3" diameter. he was acclimating them, and they didn't look so hot. i wonder if they're one of those things that seem cool, but don't do so well in tanks??

for everyone who was dying for an update... we drove home from nyc friday and saturday, and stopped at both greenwich aquaria and abc reefs. two new fish stores in two days!!

both stores were really nice, good fish and coral selections.. sweet displays... totally worth checking out. i don't have pics because i feel weird about taking pictures in stores.

i'm in nyc again... and i just got back from manhattan aquariums, it's on 37th near 10th. i thought it might be pretty nice, since uniquecorals.com is their online store, and it was totally sweet.

there was an enormous tank-in-progress in the entranceway, no water tho. elos display tanks, a huge circular reef tank and a ciclid (sp?) tank made out of 2"acrylic... oh, yeah, shark and ray lagoon... big selections of fish and corals too...

lots of frags of rare corals, and prices to match.... but nice to look at!

anyways, if you're in nyc check it out!!!!
