Advice on water change

As some may have read I have recently upgraded to a larger tank 75g w/ sump (about 25g) from a Biocube. We my first water change coming up I'm looking to you guys to find out how much water and how to go about it. In other words should I take all the water out of DT or from sump or both? All in all I would say I have about 80g of water total.

Awaiting your replies.
Thanks guys.

Remove water from your system from the easiest place to take if from. I work from my sump, but if it's easier for you to take it from your display, take it there. I change out more like 20% of total volume, but 10 gallons is easy to mix, and easy to work with. That should be fine for regular maintenance on your 80 gallon system.

I have a 75g tank and a 20 long sump. I change roughly 10-15 every 2 weeks. I have a 35g brute pail on wheels that I fill up just about half way. I have a siphon hose that I drain from the DT into 1 pail, then pump the new sw into the DT. Then, turn everything back on.

Easy for sure. Takes 10 minutes as long as you have the water made already.

I do once in a while use a bucket head and a 5g pail and suck up water from the refugium section in my tank because of the detritus that settles there. Just the siphon won't work because it's on the floor.
