As it would happen, I ordered 2 bottles of this from Amazon.ca few weeks ago. I have not received the order yet, the website said it was out of stock, and just today their system sent an email saying they were still "trying to get" the product. I will let you know if it actually shows up eventually.

Tek,

Have you had any discussion of getting these creatures DNA coded? I have a suspicion based on the large variety of experiences in what kills them that there must be numerous species. I found two small frags in my tank and am experimenting with Flatworm Exit which I know many folks have found to be ineffective. I found that 1 drop in 50 ml of tank water was enough to kill the variety I have in less than an hour so I am trying a round of FWE at half the recommended dosage. Your work on the life cycle is key in knowing when to treat again or more specifically how soon eggs could hatch and then mature and lay more eggs.

Anyways great work and keep it up!

Good reading.
Thanks for taking the time to study this pest.
I lost all of my acros about two years ago and I think it was because of this.

Hi Tek,

It was mentioned earlier in the thread and you commented on it, are you going to put into the study some redbug experiments? There are so many anecdotal stories of how systems will either have redbugs or AEFW, but never both at the same time. The experiment I’d love to see would be to add redbugs to an AEFW infested system and monitor AEFW population growth. As both affect and would compete over the same colonies, could redbugs be effective at limiting AEFW? Or even possibly see AEFW or their eggs as prey?

Thanks for the consideration

Very interesting. Ive noticed bite marks on some acros in my tank and dipped several in fauna marin pest control but so far haven't found any aefw. Is it possible something else is making these bite marks or is it just that my mandarin fish is eating all aefw that are big enough to see?

Yes could be or your dip is not affective. Try a quick dip in a diluted solution of peroxide that will tell you for sure if you have them. Stuff is great !!

Any peroxide dip I've ever used has completely browned out my acros. Bayer is effective and does not brown them out. If Peroxide works well I know I'd like to hear the dosage tried and see the effects on the coral a few days after dipping.
