afex's 135g Rimless Cube

havent seen this yet until now. wonderful looking tank, too bad you're a tiger! ;)

tagging along can't wait to see it all up and running.

sweet tank, how much did the tank cost u? as well as where did u get it? :D looking good, i wanna see some more pics.

thanks for the compliments everybody :D tehauthority: the tank cost about $1700, and was purchased from A.G.E.

i've ordered my protein skimmer (ATI bubble master 200) and glued most of my PVC. unfortunately, the wet fit is more snug than the dry fit, so not everything is lining up perfectly. i may have to redo it once i have everything setup. good thing plumbing is relatively cheap, heh.

here is my fill-up process.

Nice! Sorry if you answered this already but what are you lighting it with? Looking great!

This tank rules, love that PVC back panel and overflow, was that your idea?

AGE builds some really choice tanks, my next tank will have to be from them.

lighting will be ATI Powermodule 10x39w T5HO unit. i've been on the waiting list with reefgeek for about 4 months now :D luckily ATI made some more and they should be state-side towards the end of the month.

actually the glass back panel simply has a vinyl backing and the overflow is acrylic.

very nice, keep us updated :)

update: the tank is full!

unfortunately, my return bulkhead has a slight drip in it. not enough to make me redo it right now, but it will be one of the first things on my todo list.

today i'll be grabbing some mouse pads to go underneath my return pump, and cranking it up! hopefully there will be no leaks and i can start circulating the tank (it's been stagnant so far)

my skimmer gets here tuesday. i haven't done any testing for ammonia/nitrite/nitrate yet, so the cycle may be happening under my nose. (test kit gets here later this week) if it all goes to plan, the only thing missing after this week will be my lights, which i'm still waiting to hear back from greg @ reefgeek about.

What made you go with the ATI skimmer?

I have been eyeing the ATB's but my wallet keeps giving me the finger.

i'm a big fan of the built-in knife gate valve, and the overall construction.

i'll be taking some later today, if all goes well.

(in the meantime, take my other ones and imagine the tank full of water! :D)
