such a clean setup. looks so nice, keep the pictures rollin'

hopefully i can keep it clean. :D i still have to install my containers for dosing which will take up some space. thinking about using these containers: http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/Jugs-...05-gallon)-Space-Saving-Jug/product_info.html

anybody know the best way to hook 1/4" tubing to them? is there a special cap or do i simply drill a hole?

I use 2 x jugs (4 liters) that i can visualize liquid level thru, drill a 1/4" hole in each cap and that's it.

nice very nice.
For the containers get the smallest bulkehead availablle- try savko.com then use a quick disconnect( sort of like john guest but better quaility) slip to slip adapted from 3/8 to 1/4 and viola. Its the easiest and must user friendly now and down the road.
Lowes usually carries them hope that helps.

Same principle as your t of the main pump.

do you have a reason for using the bulkhead instead of rigid tubing through the cap?

I used sterilite containers for cereal obtained @ target. matched very closely drill bit with 3/8" (i think, just the size that air tubing will slide over tightly) rigid tubing (to reach close to the bottom and eliminate the possibility of the silicone slipping out), length to bottom of container and hooked up silicone air tubing directly to the rigid.

the rigid fit tightly into the drilled hole in the top of container but to make it permanent i used a bead of superglue gel around the junction on both sides.

cherry corals is popping out some really nice acrylic versions of this, but I just copycatted to save the jingle for livestock.

just another way of doing it.

sure that's the right way to do it lol.
U can certainly do it your way and many others but it will fail in the long run. So why not do it right from the get go?

my lights get here tomorrow!

this weekend is full of xmas parties, but hopefully i'll have time to install them. getting the fixture centered over the tank will be interesting since the beams above the tank are not. i'll be using the hanging kit which comes with the powermodule.

i also purchased a BRS media reactor which arrives next week. i used to run the TLF one, but was not very happy with it. as you can see in my pictures, my return line is already setup to T into a 1/4" tubing line for it, so installation should be plug-and-play.

Those light fixtures are soooo sleek and modern. Matter of fact, soon you can post your tank in the Modern Reef Tanks thread. :)

u can also join the ati powermodule club! love it. looks especially clean over your tank. well worth the wait imo.

thanks everybody :D

my todo checklist looks like:

- keep tracking nitrite so i know when i can add fish. (was between 1-2.5 today) hopefully having lights will speed up the cycle.
- start running carbon with BRS reactor
- get a cleaning pad which can reach all the glass (i'm going to avoid magfloats. don't want to scratch it up)
- buy at least one Tunze 6055 so i can get some water movement going

looking good...why not go with a vortech...to keep the nice clean look...not saying a 6055 is not nice just a bit bigger...oh love that light!!

i thought about a vortech. but the profilux uses the standard 1-10v control channel, which the vortech does not support. this allows me to control the powerhead without the 7095 unit.

doh!

just got my BRS carbon/gfo reactor in the mail, and it turns out that the input is 1/2 and the output is 3/8"

i have all my plumbing prepped for 1/4"!

looks like i'll need to buy some adapters. hopefully lowes keeps them in stock
