African Flameback + Flame Angelfish

Thinking about adding these two guys into my 200g.

Should i add them together? or African Flameback first?
any comments appreciated.

Cant help with specifics on this particular pairing but I'm sure adding them together is your best bet. I have added two dwarfs on several occasions now and have only had small skirmishes as they settled in.
I did lose one part of my duo after about three months and when putting in a replacement it was like all out war. They did finally settle but I'm sure doing them both at the same time is easiest.

I just recently added a Centropyge argi in my tank where there already was C. bisbinosus and C. acanthops. No problems... They even graze the LR and sand together as a group!
I'm adding a C. loricula soon, just waiting for a friend to catch it from his reef.

I have trio of each in my main tank
They chase each other all the time but no fatality after 6 months although I have to remove 2 flame angel because they like my acans too much.

I don't think you will have a problem if you put them together just do social acclimation box :)
Good luck

I have the same setup your asking about. I have a pair of african flamebacks in my 200 gallon DD along with a flame angel. I added the flamebacks after the flame was established. Very little aggression between them.

My flameback is a giant meanie to just about everyone. I'll have to remove him (again) if I ever want any other dwarf angles in my tank I think.

Anything close to his size, not having it.

What about a coral beauty and flame angel in a 210 mixed reef? I've had the coral beauty for 2yrs now although everything just got transferred to a new 210 from a 125 this week. I've always wanted a Flame Angel just nervous about it picking at the corals. Any suggestions on them with a reef?

Reef safeness with most dwarfs is hit and miss but most do OK, it will of course be subject to the individual so just have a plan for removal if it happens and exceeds your acceptable limits. If you just moved the Beauty within the last week then the sooner you can add the other dwarf the better. Coral Beauties can be mean and some will settle quicker than others. Again, be prepared to remove one if things don't go well. If you have a QT tank available I'd take the CB out till you get your hand on the a Flame and then put them both in together.

Thanks for the input! I pretty much figured it was going to depend on the particular fish but I don't know if I want to risk it, with having past experience when my Blueface Angel ate the most beautiful lobophyilia that I've ever seen. Before that he never touched anything but orange zoanthids. So I guess I'll wait to get one until I upgrade my daughters 20 gallon to a 55 maybe.

Tagging along, just put a bi color and a coral beauty in with the eibli and flame a couple weeks ago. The eibli beat the snot out of the coral beauty for a week and ignored the new bi color. All four are now residing peacefully.

Here's some horrible pictures...

I tried a Flameback and pygmy angel. Pygmy was smaller so the Flameback didn't care much about it. Then I added a Flame and the Flameback bullied it. It even killed a Starki damsel that I put in. Chased it endlessly. I had to removie the Flameback eventually.:(

Keep in mind that the flameback is in the argi complex, which are known to be more aggressive than the average dwarf angel.
