I just knew I was going to jinx myself by bragging how my nems haven't moved from where I put the for 5 1/2yrs now.
I woke up to see my sebae high up on rocks at very top of tank(not far from overflow).
The only thing I can think is my T5 bulbs were about do for change out, but I had replaced my MH not that long ago.
Anyway, replaced bulbs, and moved some stuff around for her, got her back at sand bed between rocks, and sure hope she stays.
Thought I'd share this info.

thats funny. I was recently bragging about how my beautiful Haitian nem had never moved, or harmed any corals.

Of course, I came home from work on monday, and he was sitting right on top of a good sized green zoo colony, halfway across the tank. I figured it would be a good time to pull the nem, colony and all, and make a trip to the LFS. traded him in for $15 store credit. still have my Rose and GBTA.

And they NEVER move! (lol)

Yeah, lucky I didn't lose anything, I kept her corner clear because when she stretches she'll hit top of tank.
I can't get rid of her though, had for way too long, I'm too attached.
Sure hope she stays where I put her.

I was proud of the Haitian, but I only had it for about a month. It was an impulse buy, researched later and found out why they aren't kept more often. 2 nems in a 55 is plenty
anyways, hope yours stays put

Davocean,

That's funny. Glad nothing got stung and hope she stay's at her new spot. Also great job on keeping one happy and healthy for that long!

Looked in your gallery and saw that you have quite a collection of nems. Which ones do you have and for w long?

Hey hooked, actually I've had the same 2 nems for 5 1/2yrs now, so all those pics are my Sebae(crispa) and LTA(M. doreensis).
Got them at about 4", had no idea they would get so big.
They've gone through 2 tank transfers, and I've gotten pretty good at placement for light flow so they stay.
Last transfer she was clamped to a rock, so I put that in her spot, I removed that and have her in sand now, so that could be one reason for move, but I think old bulbs may be reason due to her going straight up.
Bulbs are changed, and she's staying put so far.
