aga 29 or 30 oceanic cube

i might get either an aga 29 or 30 oceanic cube. What is everybodies opinions.

Which has more workibility as in able to vustumize moe.

which do you think has better dimensions

I like the idea of an aga 29 gallon. This gives you the ability for MH, fuge, skimmer, sump, ect. You are paying for the pump, lighting, and all-in-one design. Why not design your own and get it right the first time?

Yup another vote for the 29, but hey whichever you can get cheaper is always good too

go for the cube, not only do they look cooler but you get better surface area for gas exchange with the cube.

that's not completely true, what if you put a HOB sump or fuge on the 29, that'll increase the surface area as well as gas exchange. I'm not a fan of the all-in-one setups if there is the option to get a regular style tank. The cubes just seem so limiting in my opinion.

the closer to a square you are the better the gas echange. The oceanic 30 cube is not an all in one tank. It could eaisly be fitted with a hang on overflow or drilled for a sump..

i vote cube..i have a 20 lond and 2 30 cubes and the cubes look better imo.

By all in one I mean a lid with built in lighting system and partitioned filtration system built into the tank itself, one you can get without having to invest in major peices of equipment. And to clarify, the closer to a square you get doesn't mean optimal gas exchange. Optimal would be longer and deeper (front to back) rather than tall. If I had a tank that was 20"x20" and four feet tall I wouldn't be getting good gas exchange. Besides, with a tank of this size and the potential livestock the amount of gas exchange between the AGA 29 and bio cube is negligable.

29g better than all in one. you dont always get the best in the all in one. plus having to do all your diy is so much fun and more gratifing(SP)
