I finally took the time to build a mixing station over thanksgiving weekend.
With 4 aquariums in the house and 2 more coming, it's been long overdue.
The wife raises discus and has to do many water changes daily(no more bugging me either)
The only space available was under the stairs in the basement, fortunately there is a drain.

This is the space I'm working with.

Here is the basin that I built to keep the brute containers and plumbing all level.

It is a tight fit to get it all in there, but it worked!

you will love doing water changes now lol. when I used to use buckets I dreaded water change day and most times would be put on hold, now that I have my system setup it takes me 10 min to drain 30 gal and replace 30 of nsw and they get done on time.

can I ask why you cut the lids in half? otherwise the setup looks great, nice job

Edit: nm that last pic makes sence of the lids, I jumped to fast lol

Thanks!
The other half is fixed to the plumbing.

That looks very nice! The only thing I could add is that the duct tape is not going to last a week.

I did a similar thing to the 55g drum I use. First, I turned it upside down so that I could make use of the bung holes for an external pump. Then, I cut off what is now the top halfway so there would be a lid. To Hinge it, I use nylon nuts and bolts and pieces of plastic milk jugs as hinges. They last about a year or so before they break, but the cost to replace them is 0.
