AI Director Beta - Who got picked? Lets talk 'Director'!

Just a FYI
Just came home from work. No red or green light on the director. Hydras are on lunar.
Try to log in, I get the message stating director is not connected to myai.
Tried to reset the director by holding down the button, that didn't work. Unplugged and re plugged The power cord.
Was then able to log on.
And then my light intensities went to my 6:50pm light settings.
My time was off on the director by 15 hours. And the date is showing oct 30 2013
I had to manually change date and time and saved it for the director to display
The correct time and date.

mine has done this for the last 2 months.i posted this on the Beta test page.i have not heard back from them yet.on mine if the power core move at all it will do this too.i just reboot it and set the date and time about one time a week.like Sonicboom said you just need to reboot it.

How do you guys like the director so far? I see that it has been released by AI and was thinking of getting it.

how is the Director working out?? and what lights is it working on Sol,nano, vega, hydra, hydra 52? Is the director working better on one vs the other?

ive been part of the beta two weeks after it started. I have had some issues here and there...some very frustrating days, but everything always got resolved.... fast forward..

I love it period. It works for me (3 vega's) great. The iphone app is pretty neat too. Its very responsive too...

I just purchased the Director earlier this afternoon and after spending several hours trying to pair the Ai Director with my ATT wireless system, I at least got the green solid light on the Ai Director to work.

Now my problem is, when I try to find the AI Director on my wireless connections, I'm unable to find to my Director hardware. I also tried typing in http://Director-xxxxxxx.local and the Director unit was not found.

If anyone can give me some help, I would surely appreciated your help.

Thanks so much,
Randy

Just to confirm, you replaced those xxxxxx with your director serial number? The easiest way is to connect to the router via Ethernet cable so that it pulls the latest firmware.

Yes, I typed in my serial number of my Director and I also tried to connect to the router via Ethernet cable and my Director unit could not be found.

I consider myself pretty good with computers, but this has been one long difficult day for sure and I'm stumped. I'm using windows 8, and I don't think that's the problem.

Going to bed right now, and I'll tackle this again tomorrow after work.

Thanks for your help,
Randy

i posted this sometime ago but it might help some of you out now

I could not connect to your Director locally and i could not get the Wi-Fi to work.so i thought i would share with everyone.here the answers that helped me.

Good Morning
In order to connect to your Director locally using http://director-your serial# here.local/ , you must have Bonjour installed on your computer (available with itunes).
Be sure when attempting to connect wirelessly that you have the USB Wi-Fi adapter plugged in, your ethernet cable unplugged, then power-cycle the Director. After doing this and connecting to http://director-your serial# here.local/, are you able to see your home network in the network list?
Thank you for your patience,
AI Engineering Team

for the Bonjour for windows here the link.this was what i was what i forgot about.

Thanks for your advise and I did install bonjour from the Apple website. In reading the Apple support for Bonjour, I don't think Windows 8 is compatible? Maybe a computer savey expert can answer that question for me.

As for anyone that has success with your Director, are any of you running Windows 8?

Thanks again for all your help,
Randy

I connect daily to my director via Windows 8 but it's just via chrome. Originally I just connected directly to the router via Ethernet, then used my windows 7 machine to install bonjour.

Is Chrome more stable than Windows Internet Explorer? Even when I tried to use the Ethernet option, I was unable to find or even connect to the Director. I'm missing the boat somewhere on the install steps.

At least I made some progress last night with enabling my WPS on my ATT gateway. I called the ATT help desk and they walked me through the process. Even though is was a long night, I learned something new.

When I get home, I'm going to install Bonjour 3 and see if that does the trick.

I'm also going to tackle the Ethernet option as well. If all else fails tonight, I'll call AI tech support tomorrow.

If I make any progress tonight, I'll let you all know.

This is a little frustrating, but I like the challenge.

Thanks,
Randy
