AI Hydra 26 settings

Just an update, I added a second hydra 52 and now am running
[Hydra 52] [Hydra] [hydra 52]
[Hydra26]

I am greeting excellent polyp growth and coloration as well as frags growing on the sand bed.

I am sure that you will go with another Hydra 52 soon:mixed: The hydra 52s are a great light. I am still extremely pleased with three of those Hydra 52s over my Cadlights 100g dt.

Has anyone running Hydra with Kessil combo?

Yes I might if I have finds one day just to clean things up but I like that I can hang the 26 at an angle towards the back of the tank. Originally I wanted to do Kessils so I can angle them to fill in shadows but I think I am good right now.

Sonicboom, just found your thread on hydra 26 I just bought two need a third for my 180 I want to try your settings but not sure of the times you have your individual colors set for, could you please post them. thanks

I use director so colors are set for sunrise sunset, with 3 hour ramp time, moon phase ends at 6:30am. Hth

Hey there, Im new to the LED game, and I have a Resun dms500 (20 x 18 x 22) that would like to change the lights to LED. I would like to know if a single Hydra26 would be enough for my tank? Thanxz in advance.

Welcome Papachu, if those measurements are in inches, then yes a single 26 would be fine since it covers a 24 inch spread.

Thanxz for the super quick response! Yes they are in inches, I asked because I wanted to be extra sure that I would be fine with just 1. Also how high AWL would you recommend setting it at?

I keep mixed corals mostly softies and LPS, what would be a a good setting for the different color lights?

that is hard to say, depends on your rock work and where you are placing your corals, I would say anything between 8-12" should work. If you get the hanging kit you will be able to adjust them up or down. as far as settings, that is usually the million dollar question. It's difficult to give settings since each tank, aquascape, water clarity, height of lights, and finally species of corals kept is different. I would start low and adjust until you like the look, then move your corals where they do best, have good PE and coloration is correct, if one coral starts to darken but another's colors are spot on, relocate the coral.

I have a 40 gal cube - 23x23x18h, just got a hydra 26 to replace my DIY LED build which I think is too bright (24 blue XPE 3w and 12 whites, 108 watts total with no dimmers).

I have LPS, zoas and a RBTA. how high AWL should I hang the hydra? Also what % should I start at? Thanks for any input!

I have an 18x18x18 cube Mixed Reef with LPS, SPS, Clams and a Maxi Mini Nem. I run the following from approx. 8am-8pm with a 2hr ramp up and 2hr ramp down:

Violet=50
UV=10
RB=70
DB=70
GR=20
RD=15
CW=30

I started out at a 60% reduction in acclimation mode for about 8 weeks before adding my Nem and SPS. Although, you may need to start out a little stronger since you already had LED's.

Just a suggestion. Good Luck.

min-max
white 0 -45
violet 3 - 60
red 4-40
green 0 - 40
blue 4 - 60
royal 4 - 60
uv 2 - 45

Reefer 450

Reefer 450

Hello. I'm setting up a new Reefer 450 using 3 Hydra 26 HD's. The tank is 59L x 22H x 20 Deep. I positioned them approx 11 inches above the water line and 32 inches from the bottom. I haven't added water or live rock yet. Does this height sound right?

I have been using a Hydra 26 for Since I set my tank up in since April. I have noticed that most of my LPS have been generally happy. Lately my plate coral has started to deteriorate. Any suggestions on changing some of the lighting parameters? I reduced my setting recently. My tank is a 24" x 24" corner tank and is about 20" deep. The light is 10-11 AWL. I also noticed that my Xenia has moved but it has also shrunk up some.
