AI Hydra on 30 long.

I just bought 2 AI Hydras. Got a good deal so bought them both. I have a 30 long frag tank I am setting up. Would 1 of them take cover the tank or should I put both over it since I have 2 available?

The tank is 36x13x16 high. No worries about burning the corals, right?

Anyone else running these on a tank this shallow? Also any consumer indorsements of these lights or negative experiences?

No need to worry about burning anything, just turn them down. Thats one of the advantages of controllable LED's. You can run your fixture anywhere from 1% to 100%. Cant tell you where to start, depends on how high you hang them, what corals, etc. But start at low power.

I run Hydra52s on my DT which is a shallow 400mm water level, so about the same as yours. A lot will depend on the height they are hung/mounted above the water level too; mine are at about 275mm (11"), I was running them at 95% but found my acropora was starting to go pale in colour. Turned them down to 65% and am getting fantastic colour and better growth now, the 52s are powerful and I'm sure the original Hydras will be the same.
Funnily enough I've just ordered different lighting now that I have finally found the 'sweet spot' with the 52s!!
