AI Hydra Settings Thread

Anyone with a Solana using the regular hydra? I'm going to be doing a mixed reef.

Trying to get a basic idea on the settings. Mines awfully purple.

Are you referring to the director vs. the controller? Pretty much this entire thread is on the director with some controller splashed in.

I am guessing you would suggest getting one.. director that is..
i have the controller and was trying to find perfect or close to perfect settings for my tank to enhance growth..any help is greatly appreciated.

You can't go wrong with either one. The director will have a few more features and be accessible from the Web. Go through this thread and you will probably find all the answers you need. If not we will be glad to help.

Sweet stinger on your Jeep! If it's too purple drop the violet?
Thanks. Need it around here. It's all rock, very similar to Moab, Utah.

Are the stock settings on the light fairly good? And I've noticed once the light has been on a while it goes to a more bluish color.

And I'm not using the AI Controller. I am using the wireless controller to control it with my Apex.

what about a 30" length 29 gallon

what about a 30" length 29 gallon

Would one hydra 26 be sufficient? Been trying to get an answer for awhile on another thread thx for any info....would the edges be dark?

If the fabfours weren't so expensive I would have had one already...lol
Stock colors as in stock settings? All the colors need to be tweaked to your specific tank. The key is start low and adjust accordingly. As for the lights turning bluer that is probably because they ramping up and if you have your blues higher you will see them change throughout the day.

thx

thx

Wouldnt want to buy two or the 52 if I didnt need to I wasnt sure cause my tank is 12x30 probly like 19 high or something close to that my concern was the 30 inch part because the site says 24 x 24 for coverage per light

Sorry thought I read 30" deep. For a 19" deep tank the 26 can be overkill and will probably be run pretty low. The good thing is if you decide to upgrade your tank you are set. Even though it's 30 inches wide you need to leave about 2" on each end for cleaning the glass so I usually don't count it.

thx

thx

So in terms of light what u mean is I dont gotta be concerned so much with light in that 2" range from glass anyway? Which makes it real close to 24 inches sorry I keep asking ...ur being a great help also would I hang it higher than normal ?

You got it. I would hang it where you have the coverage you are looking for, then start with the intensities extra low, then adjust based on your corals. Unfortunately we can just guide you, then you have to play coral whisperer and see what they like. Lol
