Yea it is alot of light but am in tge process of upgrading to a 55. Yea I lived in japam for 3 years but am back in tge states now

I have four vega units and two hydra 52 units over my 350 gallon hexagon tank. Any suggestions on how to combine the spectrums? Right now I have them all on one automatic timer. I'm thinking about putting the Vegas on one channel and the hydra 52's on a separate channel. How should I configure them?

By timer do you mean director? If so and you want the 52's to match the intensity of the sols, yes you can put them on a separate channel but I believe the clouds may not work. I was going to do the same thing with my hydra/ hyrda26, but I just lowered the power and left them all on the same channel with no issues.

I meant automatic setup. Can I run two automatic setup channels? So the Vegas on one channel and then the Hydras on another channel and have both automatic timers running simultaneously? I do have a Director.

I guess I just wondering the best way to configure and operate my for Vegas and two Hydras.

Wazzel - where are you currently with your settings and how are you corals doing?

Corals are doing good. My birdsnest is actually growing down and still pink at the core. I think that is a good sign. Still running the 14 hour with 5 hour ramps.

2.5 hours 0-80%, 2.5 hours 80-100%, 4 hours 100%, 2.5 hours 100-80%, 2.5 hours 80-0%

Have not changed my levels in a while
blues 100%
Violet 92%
White 85%
UV 82%
Green 75%
Red 70%

Clouds 10% probability 20% intensity
Lighting 3% probability 15% intensity
Moon on with deep blue at 4%

Hi all! I'm sorry if an answer to this question has already been posted. I read through the first 20 pages (and the last). I may have missed something between pages 20 and 90.
Anyway, here is my current situation -
100(ish) Gallons
60 w
18 D
22 H

Currently using Marineland Reef LEDs
Ordered X3 AI Hydra 26s, which will sit approximately 2-3 inches AWL

I have a mixed tank with primarily LPS' and Zoas but I have a couple of softies and SPS' scattered about.

So, some thoughts on the best way to acclimate this tank? I'm pretty worried because it's so close to the water line and likely way more intense than my current settings.

Thinking about setting up with easy mode but not sure as to what % I should run them on.

Thanks very much in advance!

At that close to the water line I would start all colors off at a very low percentage like around 10% and go up very slowly over a number of weeks of not months.

FYI I have my 52's about 13" over the water line on all SPS tank and I started at 20% and moved up from there.

Anyone have a 100g 60 x 18 x 20 tank? Im upgrading from my 60 and am wondering if I "need" an additional light. Don't think I do cuz I can go higher AWL and higher percentage. Just curious...

80 Mixed Reef Tank over a 55 sump
Fish, Inverts, Nems, SPS, LPS, Shrooms

I run two Hydra 52's I think about 9 inches above the water line.
I've been running these lights for about 6 months now.
Things seem pretty happy, though I intend to fiddle endlessly to find the right settings for my tank.

Need to do more research and fiddling.

These images show the relevant settings I am using:

if you're going to do a tank build/move thread, pls send it to me. How are those settings working for you? You must prefer a whiter tank, I can't go past 35% on white before corals start fading.

Will do cap'n! I've just been playing around w the percentages and I do like a bit more white but will probably lower it back down a bit. These settings have been working pretty good though. The higher uv has been bringing the reds back into the ones that faded to orange a bit

I get the new tank Saturday but gotta get new sand a bit more LR and some plumbing supplies. Gonna take my time setting this one up. No rush at all. You doing a tank swap soon?

awesome!, i helped a friend with a 90 he found on craigslist, we had to tear it down and rebuild it at his house the same day.

He found a drilled 90 with Panworld return, two sumps, rock and sand, all livestock, a SunPod HQI 150 W MH/LED combo, water jugs and other miscellaneous stuff. all for 150.00...LOL

Damn. Someone wanted out of the hobby lol

Frost, how have your corals been in terms of growth with these settings? I have a really similar setup (2x Hydra 52, 90g, 9" AWL, mixed kinds of corals), for about 3 weeks. The only difference is I run the whites a bit more than you (40).
