AI Hydra Settings Thread

Has anyone used all colors equal for long period to see if they got better colors or growth instead of adjusting colors to what they like up front? Just curios if people are adjusting the lights thinking it's better without trying the colors equal across the board. Has anyone tried the settings both ways and what was the results?

any one please ?

any comments on my lighting. i am looking for high growth

I have not seen anyone post that mix yet. If you like that look I do not see where it would be bad.

White is kind if high at 60%, let us know how that works for you. None of this is set in stone.

I would have to disagree that 60% is high. I have the same tank and run my whites at 87%. With out my spread sheet I can not say for sure, but by eyeball approximation those settings are probably giving about half power.

Everyone's setup is different even if you have the same tank. I rather suggest lower settings and have coral growth then max settings and risk burning or bleaching. There's 104 pages of variations in settings and only a few I can think of run higher settings.

at this setting , with the dosing of zeovit too, my pink pointed bird nest is getting pink color at the tips and the coral from Aust is getting color too.

I will wait for 1 month or 2 before raising it .

Really?! Hum. What level did you set your acclimatization setting at?

I started with 50% and a three month time. Every time I added a coral I would restart the acclimation a little higher with three months again.

I think to get the most out if these fixtures they need to be run hot and long. Acclimation really needs to be drawn out to not burn corals. Based on my experience I would suggest 3-4 weeks per 10%. When I added my last coral I did a 30% reduction and a 6 week acclimation and that was for a coral on my tank bottom. Long acclimations will not hurt anything.

The power vs par relationship appears to be linear. I forget where I posed it, but I made a spread sheet to approximate output based on the levels of each channel. I posted the results of a study I did in this forum in another thread.
