I 2nd this! I have 6- hydra 52 and 4- t5 over a 60" tank 27" deep and only need to run the lights at 45% to achieve 200 to 260 par 8 to 10" below water line with lights 10" off the water line.![]()

I am planning on getting a hydra 26 hd. can someone please check and tell me how many inches of space is needed by the HMS single light mount to clamp on to the tank? I am running an over the top return plumbing, and want to make sure I have enough space to mount the light mount dead center.
my tank is very similar to the cube tank in picture posted by Reeftub, and I see the mount closer to the edge rather than center behind the overflow box.
thanks.
More improvement every day now Orcus:bounce3:
I moved the birds nest upward in the tank and the colony started to open up better immediately. I should have remembered it is SPS and needs more light not less! The Monti continues to improve.
Cyano is still rampant, but I'm just raking the sand and ignoring most of it. The new CUC members have settle in so we'll see if they are worth their cost.
Does anyone have the .aip file for the AB+ that i can load on my director? I tried loading the other one but i think its for the Hydra HDs and its not letting me upload it.
For the single mount you need about 3" behind the tank for the screws. I had to drain and move my tank out from the wall for it to fit...

Always a treat when you post photos a simply stunning photos! I just moved two weeks ago so thinks aren't looking the best and the tank is on the floor. But I should be getting my sump next week so I can get my SCA 50 running and everything moved into its permanent home!![]()

thanks.
is the 3" clearance so you can install the mount? what if I install it before putting the tank in the final location, how much clearance is needed to accommodate the mount?
Is the rail itself away from the tank? how far?
I have a 3/4" return plumbing coming up behind the overflow and over the top.
Is it possible to install the mount so the two clamps are on either side of the pipe? and the rail itself will be behind the pipe (elbow actually). I think the rail itself is 2" wide, plus the clamps on either side so it will take up about 2.5" of space on the top edge of the tank. I don't think I can move the pipe away from the center by that much, so hoping perhaps the mount can install with a pipe between the rail and the tank back glass.
a picture of what the mount looks like when installed will help.
thanks.
Sorry, I can't get my file to load.
Don't mind the whacky setup just moved and everything is in a temporary tank on the floor haha. But the mount is awesome until you get to where it attaches to the tank. As you can see below it is very bulky and requires way too much space behind the tank. Fwiw it is solid though, definitely no fear that my $600 light is going to fall in the tank.
