AI Hydra Settings Thread

I'm trying to figure out why brs overdrives the violet and uv diodes and under drives the green and red. If you look at the spectrograph you can clearly see there is too much violet and not enough red/green when compared to the radion. Not a huge difference but a curious one that I'm not sure why it wasn't corrected when it could have been easily been done.

I am thinking something along the settings below would maintain the same output wattage and reduce the discrepancies between the radion and AI spectrographs.

Those who run the non-hd primes...what would be a comparable setting for the AB+ program?

In my cube, I have just a normal Prime about 10" over the water, and it's mostly LPS. Using a profile linked, I have peaks and valleys at max 90% for UV, V, RB, B, and whatever else the R, G, and CW are at. Not much tweaking. Running acclimation mode at 30% for a few weeks.

But, I have found the AB+ program for the HD Prime, just nothing comparable for the non-hd version.

good observation. the larger peak around 420 with the AI could be a good thing?

Hello all I have a AI Prime HD and I have my up and running for about a week. Today when I came home from work my light was not on, the AI was green and not blinking. It has come on and off everyday without a hitch until today.

Any ideas what is going on with this light?

I went to the phone and I was able to turn the light on but to the original settings.

Thanks in advance

Possibly a power outage. I lost power once and I had to reset everything.

Anyone have a fish acclimation schedule they use? The High schedule scares the absolute out of new fish lol

I just had captive bred clowns, so I just did a ramp up from 30% over 24 hours. They could care less I think.

When I got my first nem (before the clowns), i did a 3 day ramp up from 30%.

Not sure if that helps at all, since the things I'm getting are all captive bred / aquacultured in tanks with crazy bright lights shipped to me within 15 hours from said lights.

Thanks for the post, this is my first time using LED/halide combo so I’m trying to work through the learning curve. LED is so programmable is almost more difficult at the beginning to tune.

Anyone here running LED/halide combo with these hydras?

I have 4x Hydra 26's (Non HD) over my 6' 125g tank. How high do you guys have yours mounted? Mine sit about 15" above the water line but I'm thinking to put them lower.

I have 3 HD's right now over my tank and they are 6" max over the water.

I am planning to add my halides this weekend and my tank is deep so I am trying to get as much punch as I can.

I would say 15" is pretty much perfect height. The hydra both non and hd have plenty of power that the benefits (ie better spread, coverage, shadow reduction and more diffuse light) far outweigh any small losses in par from hanging them 15" awl.

I would agree with this. The height I have them now is too low but I wanted to have lights over the tank until I can get my permanent light fixture assembly installed.

12 - 16" would be ideal, which is the height they will be mounted when completed. At 6" the disco affect is pretty pronounce.
