AI Hydra Settings Thread

same boat with the zoas. NOW after about 6 months of having the tank im finally having some luck with them, but I did kill a ton of them. Now they are looking better, but some are stretching just like yall are mentioning. ALL have always been in the sand bed some NEVER directly under the LEDS. I have sps growing in the sandbed almost next to the and they are doing great. MY setting are
w 15%
v 45%
g 15%
r 15%
db 50%
rb 50%
uv 50%
Everything in my tank is looking great. Actually now better than ever, as I had no fish for a while due to an ick outbreak. So im guessing due to the low nutrients, everything looked very crapy. now I got 6 fish all fat and I feed heavy lol. love seeing fat fish

Did u have leds before? or t5/mh?
I have dialed down my uv, green and red - look to max out at 50%
I am impressed how bright they are.

milsaltnewbie, How deep is your tank? How many lights?

No first set of lights on this tank. Corals have all been purchased from led owners.Uv has been slightly raised over 6m to what its now. Green/red lowerd from 40% to what it is now same as whites

Tank is 20in deep, with 1 inch sandbed more or less. Have 2 Hydras over it. If you look early on this thread you can see morw of my set up

Got 2 hydras yesterday guys....i have a 120 gallon 5'L x 18"D x 24"T.....trying out some number settings just seeing what you guys would recommend...i had five T-5's hooked up before the hydras.

use caution with the whites some corals mainly SPS dont like to much white. If you read back some pages it looks like the corals dont like a lot of UV also. you may want to keep a sharp eye on the tank.

After finding this thread and reading through it I decided to move my topic here. So I just picked up some leds and got them setup. I'm looking for some help setting up the percentages on each color, and acclamation. Just to give you an idea where I'm at, my olds lights are nova extreme pro's 72" with 12 36" t5's over a 125 6' tank. I have a mix reef with softies, lps, and sps. I am now running 3 leds with controller which are a ai hydra, ai vega, ai hydra, from left to right. If you have any experience with them I would appreciate the help.****Thanks*

Here are the different colors I have and there %
White 30
Violet 25
Red 20
Green 20
Blue 50
D-blue 50
Royal 50
Uv 20
Is this a good place to start? What percentages should I be at after acclimated?

*Things I've noticed so far are my sps has less polyp extension, and some zoas are not fully opening. Would you say that could be from not getting enough light. I also forgot to plugged one of my heaters back in while moving cords around. My temperature dropped down to 70 degrees which might have stressed my corals some.*

also my hammer coral hasn't really come back out yet for 2 days, ....so i set up the acclimation mode for 30% for 30 days.....the corals have allway's been under a five bulb T-5 unit....should i do the acclimation mode?

IMO i would try bringing your UV down from 59% to max out at 35%ish range , and maybe lower whites a little, but for my own tank i had less PE at 60% uv once i dropped it in the next few hours even all my LPS came out much more and have been great PE since. my whites at maxed at 27%. i have 3 hydras over a 150 gallon. 23 inches deep and 11" off top of water.

Yea you can still it won't hurt. You can try to just lower and see how everything responds but if your coming from a non led setup it may be good to acclimate still.
