AI Hydra Settings Thread

this is my settings @ 12:30

I am on the fence between the standard wireless controller and the AI director.. Someone convince me either way.

If you set your settings using the director and you lose internet access, do the settings get lost or are they maintained and you're just unable to see what they're doing remotely kinda thing? (Which would make more sense to me)

The settings will remain if you lose internet access on the Director. Also, you can be anywhere in the world and be able to control your lights with the Director.

Gotcha, well then that's good to know. I was just reading a few pages back I felt bad for asking the way I did because I realized after the fact that in a 75 page thread I bet someone has already asked :). I saw Sonic's reply a few pages ago about how without internet connection it maintained.

It wouldn't make any sense that they'd lose their settings with just the connection being lost, that would be super dangerous.

I still think I'm going to go with the controller just to keep it simple. The idea seems really cool but I feel like it is just more to go wrong. I don't know when I'll be really controlling my lights all that much especially if I was away from home.

Of your Internet is intermittent for long periods then stay with manual mode. Otherwise auto will update sunrise sunset frequently where manual won't.

I finally decided to give these a try and they will be delivered tomorrow. Excited but nervous, I really hope my corals like these lights. I have mostly LPS and some are at middle tank height so I want to be really careful.

I will have 3 Hydras 12" off the water over a 72" l x 18 w x 22 h tank.

I am thinking of starting with:

blues 40
white 8
UV 8
Violet 20
Green/red 5

If all goes well each week I'll slowly increase to:

blues 80-90
white 20-25
UV 30
Violet 50
Green/red 10-15

Any thoughts? Again my tank is mostly LPS and zoas right now except for two very small SPS frags at the top of my tank.
