AI Hydra Settings Thread

I am currently in week 3 of a 6 week acclimation period with that file and the following settings tweaked for my acan:

UV=30%
Violet=60%
Deep Blue=80%
Royal Blue=75%
Green=5%
Deep Red=5%
White=35%

I may modify it further depending on how my acan does thru the acclimation. It did go under a ledge for 5 days and then out to the corner for another 5 and finally back out to the front and has been good so far. Everything else has been loving the light. For reference, it is mostly LPS except for a Monti Cap and Crocea Clam. I am going to try to push the settings as far as my LPS will allow and then start adding more SPS soon.

I got my lights last night but I can't get the controller to work and I'm so ticked off right now as I was so looking forward to setting them up this weekend. Of course AI is closed for the holiday. I followed their instructions exactly, deleted the old firmware and put on the new. On my computer it looked fine but when I unplugged the controller and plugged it back in it still had the old firmware. Tried several times and now it seems stuck on the firmware update screen.

UV 35
Violet 75
Blues 100
Green/red 5
White 30
Clouds 20% probability 10% intensity
3 hr ramp time
location timers on
real time weather off

Love your color setting I have mine set to 50%
I actually lost tons of zoa :( I'm gussing swiching from Kessil was bad. They got zoa pox and only thing that change was light temp is apex controlled at 80 I guess whites where to high man this is one strong light.

Thanks toky916, sorry to hear you lost some zoas. Odd you lost then coming from kessils. Where they the 150's or the 360's? I am considering supplementing these with kessil 360 for the back.

Toky916 Am I to understand that the Hydras are that much stronger than the Kessil? Did you use the acclimation settings AI has?

He is using Apex Fusion for controlling the lights, as do I, so there is no acclimation setting. You set the overall intensity of each light to a percent of the the lights setting, i.e., My blues are set at 100% but the overall intensity is 90%. I started at 50% overall intensity and add 2% points every 3-4 days.

So right now, per his post he is at an acclimation setting of 80%

I had 350w on the tank. Yes they 52 is a lot stonger than Kessil.
Yes I'm useing the apex. Everything was fine at first when I set up. Then I whated to change it to be more white so I messed with the settings and week later noticed I should have left It alone :( bleached a few things zoas where all ****ed off.

Just few days ago swiched to sonic boom setting to ramp to 50% peak for 4 hrs.

Sonic boom to supplemt for the shimmer sure I would throw them on im not sure how much shimmer but coming from them no big deal shimmer is not a deal killer for me. Kessil Is cool but single source light sucks the hydra at least has it's 4 pucks.

So any one have a thought of running the hydra 52 with no lens ? Just the chips kinda like pacific sun do with there lights ?

just a quick growth update, acro attached to overflow just above the openings in the middle. you can also see the bleached corraline algae in first pic back with full color in second
