AI Hydra Settings Thread

If you are using the regular controller I would look up the sunrise times in your area, then if you want your lights off all night, start ramping them up at sunrise. You might also try a longer than 1 hr ramp time. 2 - 3 1/2 hrs?. Then you can lower your whites and run an hour or two longer for midday. Get rid of 2-4?

Thanks,My house temp is a steady 72,73.My lights are side by side.

I do have another question,I have the director and wanted to show my family the storm effects. Is there a demo mode or something.

I think if you turn off the weather and enable lightning manually, then set it to 100% probability with whichever intensity it should kick on after a minute or two.

and turn off cloud effect if your not using the geo location function

Your house is cool the fans may not need to come on! my house is at 79 and the fans only come on from time to time.

Quick question about the "regional weather" effect on Director and Hydra 52s: Does this only adjust the sunrise and sunset to the region selected or does it more accurate simulate that region's weather by also copying cloud and thunderstorm info?

Correct, all of the above.

Maybe set your lunar for 10pm-6am.

Because with a 4hr ramp the "sun" will begin to set at 6pm but not disappear until 10pm. It surely wont hurt anything though.

Other than that looks good.

That was my bad. It is set for 10pm to 6am. Good catch.

What lights are you coming from if other than LED's it may be a lot of power.

Coming from a 6-bulb t5 HO fixture. Bulbs are around 8 months old so they have lost some of their power.

Just in the two days I have been running these lights I have seen my umbrella leather extend its polyps further than I did in the last 2 years.

Still waiting on the director. Looking forward to the additional control it sounds like it has.

If you turn weather on and set percentages, does that overwrite the regional weather settings for cloud cover and storms? Does cloud cover have to be turned on for regional cloud cover to work or does it need to be off? Am I making sense?

Regional settings will overwrite cloud settings, in other words you can only use cloud settings if weather is off. If weather is on then it will increase or decrease the cloud cover based on the actual weather outside.

Ok. Thanks.

Thanks finally after 7 reboots I can get to it....

Sonic,I dont know if this helps.I use my hotspot on my phone to connect to director. So its not always hooked up,even though the director is tuned on.So here is what i have to do.I got to unpug the director and plug it back in,and then it connects. That tells me if there is any break in the internet at anytime,i would need to do that.

I'm not very fond of a too blue look on the tank. issue is the whites on these fixtures are so overpowering that when it gets too high corals bleach.

you think I should use a 2hr ramp with a 4hr photo period per % instead of the 2hr period w/ 1hr ramp?

Dahos, You may want to watch your corals that is a big change from T5's to Hydra's, I learned the hard way.
