Being a small tank with a corner footprint they are touching in the canopy. They are only 5 inches from the waters surface to keep them under my canopy. I'll reduce the settings since they do overlap. Thank you Sonicboom

The light has been set at 50% whites 60% blues, red and green 20% uv at 15%

I really have a very hard time interpreting the results of these types of studies and therefore have absolutely no idea how to apply them to my Hydra 52's
These studies, to me, seem to imply that there is a most beneficial compbination of colors for us to use and the ratios between them, i.e., X%CW, X% RB, X%DB, etc for all the colors the lamp privdes. What we are all looking for is - What are the applicable %ages.\

Hello I'm just joined this thread to ask everyone a question about the ai hydra 52 and the light parameters as far as what I should set the intensity to for each color. I'm new to salt water I have had my tank up and running for just about 2 months. My water quality is good and salinity is 1.025.
I have a jbj 30 gallon rimless.
With 27.5 lbs of live rock.

it's interesting the uptake of light energy @ different spectrums. but to much of a good thing can also harm corals.
raising the uv and red at the same time seems to be the way to go (from my understanding)
i have set a peak time of 1hr at high noon to see the effects.

Hello I am new to this forum and I have read a lot good information about the ai hydra. I bought mine about two months ago and I love. I believe its worth every penny. I am just attempting to adjust the parameters for the light intensity. I dont have any coral on the tank yet. But I will be add a couple this thursday. And since I am new to saltwater I hope I get it right the first time. I have a jbj 30 rimless 23.6" x 19.7" x 16.5 with 27.5lbs of fiji live rock and 3 domino damsels in the tank right now. My water parameters are:
No2 - 0
No3 - 10
Nh3 - 0
Using the api master reef kit.
Salinity - 1.025
Ai hydra parameter
Starts at 8:00am
Ends at 7:45pm
Ramp time is 1 hour
White - 45%
Violet - 35%
Red - 30%
Green - 20%
Deep blue - 40%
Royal blue - 40%
Ultta violet - 45%
Working on getting the lights down to 8 hours. I had them at 12 on and 12 off but that didn't clgo over very well in the tank green algae all over my glass daily. Which is why I want to see what everyone else has there lights set at and to see if anyone has any suggestions. I am open for coments and suggestion.

I believe Ecotech already does that with their Radion Lighting and Vortech Pumps with Reeflink.

If it was me, I would up the Blues a little, back down on the whites, back way off on the Reds and Greens maybe 10% or less (that part of your algae problem) UV may be a little high too. May be a good idea to start at the beginning of the thread and read through it there is a ton of good info.

I think I can set the Apex to make it happen. It can control the lights and Mp40, would just have the wright a line that says when lightning or storm on then MP40 max or some thing like that.

It would be controlling it through the AWM AI wireless modual.

Is your tank still cycling? You can probably turn everything down using acclimation mode by 50% for the remainder of the cycle until you are ready to add corals. The damsels don't need any light.

Lookin at a similar situation as Kalen: organics all test at zero and have algae everywhere. I'm currently runnin only half my t5s on my 29g (not by vhoice but bc half my fixture is broken) - hence the upgrade to hydra. Despite the lights the vorals are all very happy. That brings me to my question
What acclimation levels should i run the lights at to start? Due to only having 2 t5s im thinking something very low like 20% of the preset levels. Also i'm thinking like 10" above the water. Suggestions?? Thanks peeps!

I would start low coming from T5s the lights have more power than you think. Hard to say what settings not knowing what your corals are! just set your starting point at say 60% then set you acclimation at 50% over a month or some thing like that.
