AI Hydra Settings Thread

It lets you set a location then pick if you want to just use the sunset/sunrise times of the location or just the clouds/thunderstorms of the location, or both.

Let me see if I can enable sunset/ sunrise with clouds with location..

Edit: seems like it's one or the other. I can turn on manual clouds separate from real time weather, or I can enable clouds with lightning.

I can turn on Location weather, but turn off "Real Time Weather" and keep "Location Timers"...

Then turn on my own probabilities of clouds and thunderstorms...

Oh, I see what you are saying. Yeah, it would be nice if you could choose to turn on just a locations clouds OR lightning...maybe next update.

Exactly, if I turn on my own cloud probability it would be the same every time.

After a couple of months on the same Hydra starting settings I realized I haven't done any power upgrades on the settings.

Got this starting settings on a 36" tall tank
Blues 45%
White 30%
UV 25%
Green 15%
Red 5%

My tank is very deep and the lights are 14" from the water surface, I plan on raising the power on my lights every monday, should I do 1% or 2% weekly?

I wouldn't go any more than about 40% on whites but you can end up at 100% on blue

Just updated the director and both lights. Nice to turn off real time weather now. The director keeps getting better and better

What intensity is every one running lol I see the percentage of colors but not on intensity.

We'll I have my on a 65gal 15"high set to 60% intensity and 70% all blues,uv 30,violet 40,red 8,green 15, white 30%

Sounds like a great deal but useless unless you plan on upgrading your tank in the future to something deeper and wider than 24 inches. Otherwise you will be running them around 20%..

I pulled the trigger on the deal. I should be making the switch this week sometime. I figured it was a bargain, and if I decide to upgrade my tank I will have enough light to cover about any tank I want up to 6 feet wide.

It is for a pair of Hydra 52 upgrade kits. They were used for a couple of weeks over a freind's frag tanks. He bleached a couple pieces and switched them back to Sols.

My Hydras were originally Sols that were upgraded. I guess I am going to try to sell the Hydra parts I will be taking off to someone who wants to upgrade their Sols. By the time it is all said and done the upgrade to the 52s may be really cheap for me.

Im gonna be ramping the Blues 2% per week and the whites, reds, greens and UV 1%

Would This be OK?

it's really all up to your corals, everyone's settings here are close but there are probably not two people with identical settings, read through the thread and you will find peoples similar settings for certain colors which might help

+1. watch out for your corals grow and the configuration that give out the best results.

I think the new update broke the acclimation mode. Can someone try to set it on theirs. I keep getting an error that says: "Hold It! The dates you have chosen do not include today's date, thus your lights will not be affected." even though todays date is definitely in the range.

I was in the middle of an acclimation ramp when the update came through and it is still going just fine.

You should check your director. I just got that exact issues as a bug fix as I was typing this.

Nevermind. Right after I posted that it looks like the just put out another update to fix it. AI is on the ball.

Do any of you have problems with the iPad app crashing. I am using the director and every other time i try to manually control the light the iPad app crashes.
