What does "Lighting 3% probability" mean?
Is it supposed to read "Lightning"?
The way it works is the probability is the chance of the event happening in any 15 minute period. Works the same for clouds and lightning.

So a chance that the lights will be on? Sorry, I'm confused.
No a chance you will get clouds or lightning.
Okay so was it supposed to say lightning not lighting?

Corals are doing good. My birdsnest is actually growing down and still pink at the core. I think that is a good sign. Still running the 14 hour with 5 hour ramps.
2.5 hours 0-80%, 2.5 hours 80-100%, 4 hours 100%, 2.5 hours 100-80%, 2.5 hours 80-0%
Have not changed my levels in a while
blues 100%
Violet 92%
White 85%
UV 82%
Green 75%
Red 70%
Clouds 10% probability 20% intensity
Lighting 3% probability 15% intensity
Moon on with deep blue at 4%
Lol, just a typo, that is what was throwing me off. I was like, "lighting probability" - what is that? Lol
Wazzel, I checked out your settings on my regular Hydra's, they are much whiter than most people run. Do you find this also with the Hydra 52's?
As far as green and red's, do you think these are colors that corals need as much as white? What I would like to know is what are the colors that the sps actually need and what colors are just simply preference.

I have 2 Hydra's over my 90 (48x18x24).
I have mainly SPS, would the 52's be worth the upgrade over the regular Hydra's in terms of color and growth?
My vote is yes for the 52s...the 52 is day and night different from the Hydra, imo. I went from three Hydras to three 52s on my 100g. The growth is awesome. See page 109 and post # 2721.
What are your current settings for the 52's.
Do you notice a big difference in coloration in your sps?
Color and growth yes. I have a marinecultred sps colony with some receded tissue when bought it. It is fully healed and starting to show PE now. The zoas growth is extremely well.
I just increased 5% intensity this past weekend for the blues, violet and cool white. The current settings are: 2 hrs ramping with the photoperiod for 11 hrs.
Blues : 85%
Violet: 45%
Cool white: 35%
UV: 30%
Red: 15%, and
Green: 20%
Thanks, what are are your tank dimensions?
I'm trying to understand whether there would be any benefit to getting these for a 90 gallon, because I will just have to dial them way back anyway.
In this massive thread I have an excel spread sheet I put together so you can estimate power. It shows you where the power is going. It is weighted for the number and size of each LED channel. All you need to do is put in your levels and it tells you the power of each channel and the total power. Wish I knew what post.
