corals are fine but i was coming from a Kessil so the light itself looks completely different looking. Though most any true reefer will say the AI's grow corals better then most other led fixture which i do believe but the kessils look so much better IMO. So to answer your questions its really hard to tell right now since i'm not used to the lights at all.
I have 4 Hydra 52's 10 inches above the water (24 inch tall tank). Tank is 70x34x24. My tank is new so I don't have a huge colonies yet. Right now everything is frags....but I have 20+ sps frags.
This tank will be sps dominated with a few LPS and Zoa.
UV: 40%
V: 30%
DB: 65%
RB: 70%
CW: 40%
G: 35%
R: 10%
Right now I am looking for growth so if you guys have any suggestions let me know. Currently the settings above are on a 60% acclimation reduction that will acclimate for 30 days.

Unless the LFS is running AI Hydras at the exact height and settings as your's, you can pretty much expect any coral to change colors once received. acclimate and you will see the correct colors or better.

Yeah. The LFS was def not running AIs. Not sure what they were but I know they weren't AIs. The coral is def acclimated. It's been in there since Last December and the AI's have been on my tank since Feb. I'm going to check my color percentages tonight and post. Perhaps they need some adjusting to bring out the right colors. Thanks again guys!
Yeah, I came from 2 360's running at 100% on a 90 gallon...... ran the Hydras at about 60% blues and 35% whites and about fried everything in 3 days.....I toned them down as soon I a started noticing bleaching luckily and everything is as happy as can be now. I posted my aip a few pages back, but basically I'm at 100% on blues, 50% whites, 70% violet, 30% UV, 25-30% on reds and greens. took me about 3 months to get up to these numbers starting with about 65% acclimation.

Looking for a recommendation:
Just set up a new 40 breeder and don't know whether to go with (2) Hydra 26 or one 52. Want good coverage but SPS-packed tank too.

OK, just got home from work. These are my settings:
White 30%
Violet 5%
Red 5%
Green 5%
D Blue 60%
Royal 60%
UV 5%
3 hour ramp time (Controller)
Thoughts?

Wow bump up the uv, violet to 60 and the red, green to about 30 and check out your colors. The colors I ask you to turn up are not as powerful as the blues and white so shouldn't affect the corals as it would if you turned up the whites to 60 so don't be worried just keep an eye on them for thennext 2 weeks

I would go out on a limb to say Reeftub's numbers are a tad high, some of the corals are growing towards the back of the tank away from the light and the ones growing under the light are tabling, which means they are growing outwards opposed to upwards and once they reach directly under the light, they are getting white. He also has a very low aquascape so can run higher numbers, seems like he has color and growth dialed in just some corals might prefer less intensity.
Thanks to everyone for this thread- has helped immensely in transitioning from MH based lighting on my tanks to LED on this latest build (though finding stuff in this thread is difficult with 140 pages!).
I have a question on Violet-
A post on our local board (found on another board) had a summary of the different colors and what they do. Violet is supposed to be for growth. I did find corals very sensitive to it- couple bleached after increasing without an acclimation. What setting are people usually running it and how much impact on growth did you find it has by changing?

Violet is a very small contributor to the over all power. Only four 3.5 watt diodes. I do not see how it could do much if any damage. I run mine at 100%.
Based on what I have seen The blue and white channels are the power house of the fixture and all the other are just for fine tuning the color. None of the other channels have many or powerful diodes when compared to white and blue.
