AI Hydra Settings Thread

I just purchased two new Hydra 26HDs. They are linked as parent and child. I was just going through each light individually and my blue lights on the one unit are much brighter than the ones on the other. I've just contacted AI for a solution to the problem.
Please let us know how this turns out. I have been trying to decide between 2 26 hd's and kessil. I like the spread and coverage of the AI's.

I only have one hydra 52 (with the normal controller) over my 4ft tank. Everytime I put my whites near 30% or more my sand bed goes brown.

Can someone please post their settings on the normal controller and ramp times etc.

Thanks

Hey guys, Has anyone replaced there led bulbs. I have replaced pucks. Im tired of the royal blues going out. Is it possible to change individual leds. This is on the standard Hydra fixture.
Possibly, i just bought a few Hydra's looking to get a few more, but If they pucks are the same method that the sol pucks are, the led's can be replaced, as ive installed uv on my sol pucks.

here is a thread where he shows how its done.

For those of you that are still using the AI director. I have noticed that they haven't released any firmware updates in a long time. What firmware are you currently on? Im on 2.0.53-r0.

Ok. I need some help here. 2 Hydra 26HDs over a 24" tall tank. Its 3 feet long. I was running them at factory settings of 60% and 18k. My SPS, leathers, and RBTA looked like crap. Any suggestions for settings on that type of tank with those corals and RBTA? I'm thinking of using SonicBooms settings. Help please!

Your lighting is way under the recommended requirement. You'll benefit with more hydras, and/or supplemental lighting. For now I would put everything directly under the lights to keep them alive and thriving until you get more lighting.

Turn your percentage up to 80% or more and see if that makes a difference.

It's making my RBTA (which is on the sand bed) hide and bleaching the corals at that percentage. They were doing better at 40%

My levels are great. No phosphate, 10 nitrates yet everyday I get red/brown algae all over the sand bed

I feel like I should have done T5s for the money I spent on this

Set your target levels and do a 50% multi-month acclimation. Do not make drastic increases in power. If you just changed light systems your critters need time to adjust. Patience is key.

I run 100% - V, UV; 85% - RB, DB, R, G; 40% - W 5 hour ramps, 4 hour peak

I e-mailed AI. They said with my setup not to run them anymore than 50% max

New Hydra LEDs

New Hydra LEDs

Yesterday I replaced my Red Sea 650 (175 gal) T5 canopy (10 bulbs) after 8 weeks and am now running 4 AI Hydra LEDs. The LEDs sit about 12 inches above the reef tank. The way the colors pop on the corals is amazing, especially after turning the white/red/green way down and the blues up. I also love the shimmer effect that the LEDs produce underwater.

Looking for suggestions on settings for the UV spectrum as well as suggestions on photographing the corals under the high blue spectrum (iphone cant capture good images without white light apparently).

Thanks
