AI Hydra Settings Thread

Can someone kindly point me to a Step by Step tutorial on how to download API files? I tried today and ended up downloading adobe illustrator but that didnt seem to work. I downloaded some other chrome add on but that didn't seem to work either. I kept getting errors. Thanks

A few months back I uploaded Orcus AB+ profile on the Hydra 26HDs.

It was a newly setup tank at the time. I believe the system to still be establishing itself and expect even better results. Here are my current results. Both growth and coloring.

Oh.... Let me search back

I generated these AB+ analogs using a PAR meter in conjunction with the information presented in the WWC/CoralLab study that generated the AB+ profiles on Radion lights. Overall the diodes in the Hydra's and the Radions are very similar (both fixtures are both made by Ecotech) meaning a direct conversion of values from the Radions to the AI lights is a good starting point. I then added my own twists to the schedules when I converted them. I have been tweaking these profiles for over a year at this point and they have been downloaded from my OneDrive over a thousand times.

Did they help you set up presets like the Radions?

I'm easily confused on downloading files, etc... i was stuck on this AIP file deal. Yes they helped. one thing beyond the download I didn't know about was the need to save the Presets (using the STAR symbol on phone app). They were helpful.

I have the Hydra 52 HD over my frag tank and have considered running them on my Display as well (currently ATI T5 dim sunpower 8x54 w/reefbrites).

Is it the past where you said "I'd start with this one"?

I would start with the SPS AB+ No Peaks profile. If you want to try something radically different experiment with the respiration peak profiles

I was running Saxby for a while but got too much algae. Switched to the one I posted but it's blue and not a popping blue.

The Lord Howe Saxby preset is fine as well I just find the levels he runs the white channels would bleach out most of our tanks as we dont have 4' deep monster tanks lol. Also, I doubt it caused your algae issues though, nutrients drive algae growth many orders of magnitude more then lighting spectrum.
