AI Prime HD+ good enough for my 50G cube?

Purchased my latest setup a few weeks ago. It's a 50g SCA cube with everything except a heater and a light setup. I planned on using my AI Prime HD+ from my 10g nano but have gotten mixed reviews in regards to its ability to provide enough for coral growth. I called the manufacturer and he said for the 50g it would be perfect. Any thoughts on this?

At 20 inches deep you should be good for a mixed tank with not more than polyps and shrooms near the bottom. The other limitation is you may get excessive shading depending on the rockwork and further down the line as you have colonies start to grow out.

You will have to crank up the power so it will not be optimal but it should work depending on your goals.

I have the exact setup and it's not enough - not enough by far. I am looking to replace with Kessil any day now.

Ok I just read the description of the HD+ prime and it says the area of coverage is 24" c 24" x 24" deep. I think the general opinions is that I've gotten so far is that it will be borderline sufficient for coral life with little to no growth. So, I'm so close to making a decision to purchase another AI Prime HD and sync them up. That should be more than enough for my tank for even SPS growth possibly. The big question is though, is it the led lights itself that people stay away from this unit or something else? I was told that it's the best value on the market and one of the better quality products for reef tanks.

Sure it can cover that area but as an ambient light. Companies want you to buy their stuff. This light was made for nano tanks. Your tank is a not a nano.

As an example my new tank is not much different size wise than yours at 24x24x16. I am lighting it with a Kessil AP700 and 4x T5's.
