AI Sol on the fritz

Oneof my 2 units has a mind of its own this am. Not responding to the controllers commands. No wires loose. The secondary unit linked to the one that's malfunctioning is normal.

Any thoughts?

Uh oh another one....email AI, they have awesome customer service. They are replacing one of my units for me because of the color difference in the blue LEDs.

Yeah, not happy. I'm afraid since its not following commands, that it's also no longer dialed back and running at full bore. I hope it doesn't cook my goodies!

What are the symptoms? Is it staying on, or staying off, or just doing whatever it wants? (AI sol don't care!)

Didn't you have some noise problems with your controller recently? If they're not permanently mounted in your hood, can you pull them and try running them away from anything that might generate interference?

Short of that, I'd go to the vendor...

AI controller is completely separate from AC Jr. It's also mounted. Nothing has changed.

It is not responding to programs or manual over rides. Came down this am and just the blues were on when everything should have been off. Now it's on full blast. It's just doing its own thing....

Is this module directly connected to the controller or piggy backed of the othe one? If it is not getting or accepting signal from the controller it is going to be on at 100%. They is just come out with a new firmware for the controller young want to try.

Yeah I saw that. I'm going to give that a shot.

I switched which unit was the primary (plugged into controller) and it didn't matter. It's still on at full blast like there is no controller.

AI has already responded to my email so we'll see how it goes.

Pretty quick response time. A series of emails to diagnose the issue. Seems the mother board may be toasted. They are sending me a new one free. What caused it, I've no idea.

New board is here. Gonna change it out this evening. Don't have to send the old one back. I'm the farthest thing from electronical  but it doesn't look to terribly complex.

Nate, it's all yours Bub!

be careful of static electricity. don't walk around in socks :) also make sure to touch a metal surface before removing the board and try not to move around too much while doing it (like changing diapers etc).

Jesus Pascal, you make it sound like I'm working with mercury. It's already done, thank god! If I listened to you I'd have a hazmat suit on...

Camera is f'd up right now, snapped a few pix for you techies.
