Aiptasia X and maintenance I should have been doing on my tank

Last nights meeting inspired me. I went out first thing this morning and bought a bottle of aiptasia x. It was the most awesome experience of my life. Die Aiptasia! DIE! I should have taken a before pic, but I was too ashamed to show everyone my aip farm. I bet I killed like 500. Maybe now my poor montis will open up. I blasted everything with a powerhead cleaned up my acrylic and now Im about to do a 10% water change and change all my carbon. I mixed the saltwater last night, but reallized just now that it wasnt salty enough. I dumped a couple more cups of salt in. Does this mean I have to wait another 10 hours or can I just wait till this evening and use it?
 
you should be fine, so long as you added the majority of the salt yesterday and its been mixing overnight.

Aiptasia X is awesome stuff isnt it.

The most upset I think my wife has been with me over the tank was when I zapped some Aptasia with Aptasia X and she didn't get to watch. Fun stuff :)
 
IME, Aiptasia-X is the best chemical solution for Aips, but be sure to watch for new ones... when I had an infestation in my 180, the Aip-X just seemed to make them mad, and they came back with a vengeance!
Be sure all pumps and power heads are off when you apply the stuff, so you get a good dose in the creature, preferably without disturbing its open "tentacles". And, check your overflows for the muthers of all Aips...that's where I found some monsters...

I was just being a little nerdy with a Firefly reference... couldn't help it. I blame paul with all his talk about how the filefish looked like a leaf.
 
That's not nerdy....a leaf is a leaf is a leaf...sounds like she has that Aptasia Killer thing down....Good for you Lauren............
 
Dont praise too soon. Looks like I will have to go in for round two. Many of the smaller ones have come back and I am waiting on a few large stumps to see if they reopen. It did kill quite a few though. And it was fun.
 
Well poop. The stumps all came back and most of the small ones are back too. Maybe I didnt do it right. It did help though so it was worth it.
