AJ's 400 gallon Starphire build

This a great build and thoroughly planned to the tee. Even if just place the wires neatly they are still sexy. You have given me a great idea with the dosing shelf/box. Can't wait for your tank to start maturing.

Let me know when you get you dissing box done. I would like to see it. The wires inside the cabinet are all zip tied off and zip tied/screwed to the cabinet. The only ones that are not, are the ones in the back. I'm waiting until I get my pros mounted to wrap up the rest of my cords :)

Today, I decided to start messing around with the programming on the lights and get them mounted.

Mounting the power supply's was kind of a pain because I couldn't figure out where to put them. I settled for the front of the tank and moved them to where I thought they would not be in the way when I change have to work on equipment. You can't really see them when you are looking into the cabinet from the front.

I decided to go with the Radion hanging kits. At first I printed off the manual and went over to Home Depot thinking I was pretty smart and that I would find all the parts. NOPE - They are a little over priced at $45 a piece, but after I spent an hour at Home Depot and pretty much giving up, I decided these kits were a good, SIMPLE and EASY investment for the installation.

They make it very simple for the installation.

This is the inside of the cabinet tipped on it's back so that I could mount the buttons.

Some zip ties, a level and tape measure and we are good to go!

ANNNDDDDD... We have light! It looks like I'm getting a lot of micro bubbles from the skimmer I just turned on. I can make some adjustments and dump the outlet into a bag if I have too. I will play that by ear over the next few weeks. I threw in a couple shots of the scape with the lights on it.

When you drive in my circle it looks like a spaceship is in my front room.

Really nice work looks really clean! Digging the Aquascaping! Aren't you worry about the drivers with that much humidity above the sump?

I was planning on watching it very closely. The entire back of the stand is open. I really don't have anywhere else to put them at the moment.

Police are going to be knocking on your door and when you open it they are going to forget what they came there for. And Xmas lights up already?

I know, right? Haha

It's way too dangerous to do my lights, so I have to schedule early or else you don't get them up until mid December. But I did turn them on just for this pic :)

what are those white boxes that look like ballasts with your ecotech radions? Are those ballasts?
I'm getting the AI Hydras and I don't think at least I hope they do not have those. I think the AI's just have a power supply. That's all I would need is more stuff to try and put under my stand.

I wanted to show you guys a close up of this stand and Dosser I had Elite Aquatics custom build for me. I was very tight on room, so this was a must.

I have not zip tied all the cords yet because I have more Vortech's and all my Radion Pros that I have to add over the next couple weeks. But you can see how it fits nicely under the cabinet.

Fantastically well though out build, especially the EA custom stuff. I would suggest a weather proof box over the outlet that is sitting directly under the drain.

Someone mentioned some covers to me the other day, so I think I'll have Elite Aquatics come over and build some custom covers to go over some of this equipment.

Looks like a great build! I've got to commend you for not compromising on equipment. It looks like you were able to buy everything you could possibly want for it right away. None of those "this will work for now" items. Look forward or seeing more.

Thanks for the compliment. It took me about 9 months to piece this together. Slow and steady wins the race!

Your tank is looking good. Are you afraid that the bracing in the top of your canopy is going to warp? I don't know how much those Radions weight it just looks like some thin wood.
