Alas poor fluffy

Looks like fluffy didn't survive his last molt (possibly he was picked off during the event by a pair of large hitch-hiking gorilla crabs, now residing at the LFS). I've given him almost 2 weeks now - it doesnt look good. If anyone wants to get rid of a small mantis in the Philly area, there is a custom built tank waiting for him.

From the Baron von Munchausen, Castle Munchausen...a Eulogy in the stye of the BvM...

'Fluffy was a good chap, although he mocked my auspicious Title and Name on occassion...a fair treater of snails and hermits (fair in that snails go better with lemon, while hermits simply MUST be served with a spicy chutney sauce!).

Always one to know just what bit of rubble went where, Fluffy was definately a Mantis of character. Why, I once saw Fluffy hold off a Triggerfish with nothing more than a bit of mexicana caulerpa ...

Another time, Fluffy and I took a trip to the mythical Realm of Neptune, where he wrestled an octopus twenty times his size and won, gracing us all (Tim-Supermantis was there as well...) to the most delicious fare.
A Note is needed here, as Octopus simply MUST be served with a tangy cocktail sauce, with a side of dill.

Why, I shall miss our voyages across Seas filled with murderous puffers, deadly sharks and the most ruthless of Eels...

Goodbye, Friend Fluffy, may we meet in the Great Beyond...

I would have donated those Gorillas as Triggerfish food, or, better yet, sent them to someone with a large mantis, so as to give them some proper Payback.

*Baba Yaga, my very ferocious 4" Ternatensis said that she'd just love to give them a little Payback, whether they did in Fluffy or not...
She (or my soon-to-be-had Peacock ) will be the final stop for all Gorillas that will inevitably arrive with my TBS Rock next month.

I did offer them in the PARC forum to anyone with a Mantis, but after I caught them, I was anxious to get them out of the tank as fast as possible, since they had escaped their holding cell on more than one occasion (luckily they didnt have terribly good memories of what the trap looked like). I'll probably swing by the LFS this weekend and see whathappened to them (funnily enough, I did suggest them as trigger food).

Anyway - thankyou for the kind words - Im sure fluffy is beaning some poor snail in Mantis heaven right now.
