Algae Id

Not sure if it's even an algae but is fuzzy like and has a blue undertone.

Looks like a sponge they pop up than disappear in my tank all the time .

I had a bluish green sponge that looked just like that. It was a small round ball a bit smaller than a dime. When I first noticed it, it had the same spikes with little balls at the end. After a number of weeks the tiny balls disappeared (maybe released?). The sponge survived for many months after that. But I had a major tank leak in a different tank and lots of coral and fish got moved into the tank with this sponge and in all the disruption over the next couple of months I've lost it. It may still be alive somewhere, I just can't find it in any of my 4 tanks.
