Algae on Acropora?

So about three months ago I acquired an almost dead blue tipped acro colony. Dipped it in coral revive and threw it in my tank. The first pic is the day I got it.

It came back pretty strong, and seems to be coloring up. It has a bit of polyp extension too. I moved it a little higher up every few weeks, now it's in the top section of the tank. Hopefully in a few months it will have all its color back.

The only thing I'm concerned with is on a few spots it looks like it's growing GHA. Around these spots it looks black, like its dead. Should I just snip these off?

Thanks in advance.

Nice job reviving it. Yes cut off the dead. I would even cut off a 1/2 inch of the live to make sure u got it all. If it is growing good again it will heal up quickly.

Good luck
