see blasting aiptasia thread above, just posted pics of total removal of the algae you mention in my tank. it must be stopped by hand and not animal, or it will take over your tank while you experiment.
I am having the same problem, went away for a week, when I got home, all my sand is covered and its quickly working its way up my rocks. Does anyone have a clue on what will eat it or how I can kill it?
siphon as much as you can and top off with fresh salt water, then repeat as needed. I would up the flow in the areas that collect it. The best way to get rid of it is by siphoning,GFO and keep up with water changes. Also might want to cut down on the lighting to 4-6 hrs a day
