so my dad bought a tank that was up and running but it had a whole bunch of this algae in and what not in it. This stuff is all over the rocks and the rocks have Coral, don't really know what to do about it or how to get rid of it. The corals are mushrooms, zoos, yellow polypsand he has a couple of anemones in there they're on the rocks that have the algea.

That purple-ish algae looks tough. I would throw snails and a crab. You can borrow my two expert turbo snails for a week or so. Shouldn't take long as they are very successful scavengers! Love the work they do(: big gentle bugger's that almost never knock any coral down

A good clean up crew will take care of the algae. Agree with the turbo snails.
The rock you pictured has star polyps on it. They are very pretty and I would caution you to keep it away from other rocks and corals. It is a quick grower and can easily over run a tank. JP

Thank you for the generous offer on the snails but I wouldnt be comfortable with that. Ill have him pick up a few big ones and hopefully they can cut down on the algea.

I do like the GSP and he would love for them to grow like crazy.

Red turf for sure..... not much you can do. You can try mexican turbos at best they may keep it under control. I had it years ago ..... I had to pull all my rock and bake it to get rid of it.... thats some nasty stuff
