Alkalinity level

What is the best alkalinity level for a saltwater reef tank? Mine is 6 KH, but I am told it should be in the 10-11 KH range.

Any input would be appreciated.

The "normal" is between 7.0 & 11 dKH (2.5 & 3.9 mg/l) I keep mine at arround 9.5 dKH.

6 dKH is low for a reeftank.

I would agree aim for 9ish. Bring your tank up slowly though
