All advise welcome for new clamer: Squamosa and Derasa

I am going to buy a Squamosa and Deresa Clam sometime this week and would like all the advice I can get on how to keep them alive, i.e. what to eat, where to place, etc.

tank size: 40 gallons

calcium is at 480
alkalinity is at 11
magnessium is at 1110

My lighting is: 250 MH 10k Ushio bulb
2-95 watt vho actinic bulbs
2-95 watt vho 10k bulbs

I really like both however I have had the best luck with Derasa's but both are pretty easy to keep. Also your lighting looks good and just keep the the params in order and you should be fine.

Looks like you're out to a great start! If you're interested in clams, giving Daniel Knop's book "GIant Clams" a read is a GREAT idea!
