All hail the new board members

Reef Bass

The club will begin 2011 under stellar new leadership. At last night's meeting our most experienced member, Tom, stepped up and became our new President, taking home the official plastic bin containing our raffle supplies. Grant will be riding shotgun as VP and Bob continues on as our illustrious treasurer.

With Tom's experience and connections to other reefers and clubs, and Grant's talent, drive and enthusiasm, I look forward to a renewed sense of energy and direction for the Wine Country Reefers. They both had some great ideas at the meeting last night which I'm sure they will flesh out as time goes by.

Thanks very much guys for your willingness to contribute. Let's make 2011 the most informative, helpful, supportive, successful and fun year the club has seen yet!

Thank you Ken, I will try my best to follow your foot step. You forgot to mentioned that You will also continue as our public relation/Secretary/publisher :D :D

Grant and I have been discussing different ideas and we will announce it as soon as we finalized them in the next couple of weeks. Please stay tuned, we hope this coming year will be an exciting time for our club.

I just wanted to add a big thanks to you Ken for running the club for two years and I hope that you will still make yourself available for input, you very informative posts, cool photography and of course keep cleaning that glass we need the frags :) Thanks to those of you that took the time to come to the meeting and I hope to see more of you at upcoming meetings and would like to have input from all of you on how we can improve the club in the coming year. Grant

Hey guys,

Congrats to the new elected and thanks to the old!

I have fallen off the wagon the last couple of months but last night i got home and cleaned the tank, did a water change, cheeked all my levels, filled the ATO, scrapped the glass, killed the aptasia, changed the carbon, GFO, Filter sock and sucked up some of the old sand bad that had browned up. Tonight i am going to rinse new sand and add it in. It looks soooo good when it is nice and clean. Now i need to do that ever 2 weeks at a min.

I'm going to try to stick to a good maintenance and keep it going this next year and really try to get the tank growing. I've had a lot going on with the house and life in general but I'm going to try to make more time for the tank.

Reeef on!

Oh and I have massive amounts of cheto that needs to find a new home. Anyone?

Congratulations and thanks! You always have a place here for a meeting if you need one. I don't have a display tank anymore but have 3 new aquaculture tanks that are starting to do pretty well.

Hey Steve.

The aquaculture tanks sound neato! You took down that beautiful tank in your office though? You had some nice stuff in there!

Steve, Thanks, we will definitely take you up on your offer. I am thinking maybe in the summer or spring are you up to that? Have your grill ready :D

Sounds perfect to meet at Steve's! i can go abalone diving in the morning and have a nice abalone feast when i get to the meeting. Season starts in April so it would need to wait till then.

Married life is all good, not much different than before except the ring on the finger and getting use to the word "wife" still has not really hit yet.

Also the house is torn up....i think i have about every project going at once. Kitchen is ripped up, landscape, French drains dug out...but I have accomplished a lot: new gas line for the whole house, earthquake proof whole house, new insulation in the attic, new driveway, new laundry pad poured in the garage, 50% new sewer line....and still trying to keep the kids (fish) happy.

Yes we sold it so we could replace the carpet with porcelain tile. With the 180 gone and the rest consolidated into 3 new systems our electric bill has dropped by an average of $700 per month. I haven't decided what to replace my office tank with but it will be special.
