Hello All,
Has anyone here kept or have experience with Allardi clownfish? Anyone want to share? How big were they when they started laying, how did they act, etc etc. Did anyone notice a difference in coloration from the young as they grew up, or a color difference in the males/females? I have two who are now vigorously hosting my GBTA. It took the male a while to catch on, but the female caught on to hosting very quickly. The thing I'm noticing is that the male is far more dark in coloration and has less of the brown and more of the black (TBH I think he's by far the better looking). I'm not sure if his coloration is because he's a male or if it's because he's younger though. Any suggestions?
Also, are these guys hard to find or rare or anything? Now that I've been thinking about them more, I think I remember some people talking about how extremely hard to find these are, but that was a while back and I may/probably am wrong. I sort of just stumbled upon them and really liked them, and was in the process of trying to figure out what clowns to go with. So far I'm really happy with them and think they're super cool, plus not something everyone has.
Here's some pics of the male temp acclimating with my new midas. The female jumped out of the container when she saw the camera... I'll get some tank shots as soon as I can.
A few shots of right after they went in the tank:
Sorry about all the microbubbles. The sump level was low from the acclimation. These were just two of many fish that arrived in this order, so I managed to combine it with a good sized water change:rollface:
